Every year, teachers at SDFAS participate in the Rallye Math, which is a mathematics contest organized by the French association AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad). Students are working in groups in order to solve problems of different difficulty levels. At the same time, they are working on collaborating together and making decisions. Bellow are the 3rd graders B working on the Rallye Math.
Fourth Grade students at SDFAS have worked very hard over the past few weeks to research and complete a model of one California Mission of their choice. The students presented their reports and creative models in front of the class to share what they had learned. The missions were on display in the auditorium this past Monday for everyone to enjoy!
After reading the novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, fifth grade students then created a project based on the novel. They used their creativity to recreate a scene from the book as a diorama or wrote a survival guide for how to survive in the wilderness. All projects were based on information found in the novel. Some of the projects are displayed in the library for all to enjoy.
