We just had breakfast and now the actors have a one hour time slot to rehearse before joining workshops for the rest of the day. They had to recreate a stage space in the room, and at 12 noon, they will take possession of the real theatre, a black box used for professional plays in the Children Theatre.
Everyone is fine, actors are full of energy and I hope you will recognize all the actors in the pictures…
After a rousing soccer game, our extra small 7A PE class (Ms. Seidel and her team are at a track meet and others are in Dallas with La Troupe) got in some serious Twister and Apples to Apples, al fresco. Team-building comes in many forms!
As we continue to beautify our new picnic table area, here are some creative uses of the space during recess, as an alternative to the field or blacktop. Following a student-generated survey to identify favorite activities during recess (the goal being how to best use a portion of the Jog-A-Thon funds raised this year), we purchased a few new games, including a giant chess game…more photos to come. Note the juxtaposition of animé chalk art and quotes with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle quotes. Smart graffiti!
On Thursday, the Varsity Boys Soccer team won their game, 12-0, against Encinitas Country Day. In the league standings, the team is tied for first place with a record of 3-0-1. The team has outstanding offensive strategy, coupled with a strong defensive force.
Win: Chabad 5-0, The Grauer School 5-0, Encinitas Country Day 12-0 Tie: Soille Hebrew Day 6-6
Two games remain in the regular season against The Cambridge School and Nelson Middle Years. Play-offs will be held Tuesday, May 10th and Thursday, May 12th.
The Varsity Soccer team is led by: Robin, George, Maxime, Vincent, Esteban, Thomas, Mael, Joseph, and Jivan.
SDFAS Junior Varsity team played two games this season against Nelson Middle Years (tied 4-4) and Chabad (win 7-0). Junior Varsity team: Arthur, Charles, Yann, Seiji, David, Massin, Alex, and Michael.
