Thursday Morning in Dallas for La Troupe

By Isabelle Gilet

Bonjour,

Voici les dernières nouvelles de La Troupe et des photos!

We just had breakfast and now the actors have a one hour time slot to rehearse before joining workshops for the rest of the day. They had to recreate a stage space in the room, and at 12 noon, they will take possession of the real theatre, a black box used for professional plays in the Children Theatre.

Everyone is fine, actors are full of energy and I hope you will recognize all the actors in the pictures…

Small P.E. Class with Twister and Apples to Apples

By Bénédicte Brouder

After a rousing soccer game, our extra small 7A PE class (Ms. Seidel and her team are at a track meet and others are in Dallas with La Troupe) got in some serious Twister and Apples to Apples, al fresco. Team-building comes in many forms!

New Games and Creativity in the Picnic Table Area

By Bénédicte Brouder

As we continue to beautify our new picnic table area, here are some creative uses of the space during recess, as an alternative to the field or blacktop. Following a student-generated survey to identify favorite activities during recess (the goal being how to best use a portion of the Jog-A-Thon funds raised this year), we purchased a few new games, including a giant chess game…more photos to come. Note the juxtaposition of animé chalk art and quotes with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle quotes. Smart graffiti!
