On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, as part of an interdisciplinary project conducted by Ms. Jacoway in US Science and Ms. Aseltine in English Language Arts, the 7th graders had an opportunity to visit the Cabrillo National Monument. They were tasked to identify several elements of park maintenance and restoration related to the different ecosystems that can be found in the park. They especially enjoyed exploring the tide pools!
Thank you to both teachers for this purposeful, well crafted and articulated project-based learning experience!
Thank you to Ms. Jacoway, the US Science and US Math teacher in Middle School, for initiating a “Fractions Clinic” boot camp in 7th grade! A group of 7th graders came for 4 intensive sessions of fraction practice for 4 Fridays at 8 am and sharpened their fraction skills. This clinic was recommended and implemented in order to ensure a stronger fraction foundation before the students move on to 8th grade next year.
