On March 19, 2019, all students from 5th to 8th grades had a chance to listen to his testimony as he shared his story in the auditorium. Then, he went into all middle school classrooms, and students were able to address their questions in a more intimate space.
The event, carefully prepared by the 6th graders with Mr. Prud’homme, was a unique opportunity to raise awareness on how important it is for each of us to make a stance for world peace and the destructions of atomic weapons.
Congratulations to all 6th graders and their teacher for their excellent introduction to our speaker at the presentation, and thank you to Teresa Sekiguchi who made this possible.

The music program started this week in middle school. The Center for World Music has brought in to the school a wealth of various instruments, music styles, and artists for the past few years. This trimester, 8th grade will learn how to play the Banjo in the “clawhammer” style! They will also have the privilege to go on a field trip to the Deering Banjo Factory later on in the Spring, which is the largest company making Banjo in the USA.
