In fourth grade, students are learning about various landmarks that reveal the history of California. They chose a landmark to research, use visit their landmark, and were offered the chance to construct it using the virtual platform of Minecraft. Students enjoyed being able to “see” their landmark via VR and many chose to use technology to share what they had researched as well as a recreation. They presented their projects to their class to spread the knowledge of these iconic places in California.
“The First Graders celebrated the 100th day of school on Tuesday, February 25. Each child brought in a collection of 100 items. Both classes spent the morning working on activities dealing with the number 100. The students worked in teams building the number 100 with puzzles, decorating glasses with the number 100 and solving 100 math problems. They also worked together to complete physical activities such as 100 jumping jacks, hopping 100 times and touching their heads 100 times. The first graders are proud to have completed their first 100 days of school!”
