Frida Kahlo

As we kick-start the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, kindergarten and the three first grade classes learned about the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The theme was introduced with a bilingual book about the artist, with an emphasis on target words such as “artists, pincel, pintar, flores y animales.” Book reading was followed by an art project “Let’s make a Frida Kahlo.” Here are some pics of the children getting into the swing of things for Heritage Month.
