The 2nd grade classes visited Wild Willows Farm in Imperial Beach on March 27th. There the students observed a variety of plants in a sensory garden, noticed different adaptations plants had for survival, and picked vegetables and ate from the garden. Students even tasted flowers, leaves and succulents! We also learned about the best ways to grow and acquire food in the most healthy way for both the consumer and the Earth. The students enjoyed this adventure and learned a lot. There are volunteer opportunities on Saturdays to help out and learn at the Wild Willows Farm if interested.
