Thursday, March 24, the Middle School students participated in the International show: some were wearing the traditional costume of their country (see picture: Nolwenn, Sébastien, Robin or Seiji) and others presented a younger student (see pictures: Maya, Sidonie, Loïc, Esteban). Jivan was the professor and pointed at the different countries on the map. Everyone enjoyed the songs and the cultural presentation reflecting the international spirit of our school.
This is the closing statement from Dylan Cardinal, 7th grade, active member of the Model United Nations club:
“Hello everyone. This week, we celebrated International Week as an opportunity to commemorate world cultures, people, and language through peace. As we have just seen, we have been practicing various songs to celebrate peace throughout our school and our world. “I truly believe the only way we can create global peace is through not only educating our minds, but our hearts and our souls.” This quote about peace was stated by the world’s youngest Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai. To continue our spread of peace, the school has recently allowed me to create a Junior Model United Nations Club. The JMUN club helps to educate my fellow classmates and teachers about diplomacy, international relations, the doings of the UN itself, and how to instill peace through peaceful means. Thank you to the participating ambassadors of these countries, my fellow schoolmates, and teachers”.
