Middle School Clubs : promoting Student Engagement and Action through a diversity of learning experiences and projects
The middle school Clubs are specifically designed by the Middle School faculty to enhance the SDFAS middle school experience with purposeful, meaningful and carefully crafted activities. The brand new L.I.V.E. club (Leadership, Initiative, Volunteerism and Empathy) is the brainchild of Ms. Aseltine, the English and Social Studies teacher.
The primary Objectives of LIVE Club are to develop student leadership and initiative on campus and in our community, develop student passion for school and community engagement, raise awareness about global and local issues through facilitated discussions and events on campus, and develop student self and social awareness of one’s role at school, in the community, and in the world.
Initiatives this school year will focus on areas such as Sustainability and Environment Responsibility on campus, and Poverty and Homelessness in the San Diego area.
Watch out for the other clubs’ initiatives! All MS clubs have now started.
Pi Day will be entirely organized by Mr. Giot and his Math Club students, La Troupe French Theater Club will perform their play twice in the Spring with Mme Addo, the News!News! Newsletter club already published their first special back to school edition with Mr. Prud’homme, students delight and marvel in discovering Antique Languages and Civilizations with Mme Addo, and the Junior Model United Nations Club is full again with 18 students with Ms. Aseltine.
