A new school year, new habits for our 6th graders! Students discover how a lab works and how to resolve scientific enigma by conducting experiments. We are currently working on chemistry problems: how to differentiate materials using density, electric conductivity and water solubility.
They are also becoming familiar with the workings of microscopes as they discover all the things that we can’t see with the naked eye. This leads us to looking more closely at cells, their role in life and the classification of living things. After creating dichotomous keys for our shoes, the 6th graders are ready to explore the form and function of different types of microorganisms and the cells of more complex organisms, to see which things could be related and why.
