During this past month, the 8th graders have been working on a better understanding of media. Critical thinking and media awareness being a important part of the french program, we decided to create a news room and to produce a newspaper. The students took charge of one subject each and got to work under the supervision of their elected head of redaction. What does it mean to be a journalist? What is an editorial? Which news is important enough to be on the first page? How do we chose between all the informations worth reporting? How can we know an information is true or false? Answering to all those questions can be difficult in an era where everybody can report anything anywhere!
