During the school year, events organized by the Community Association (the “CA”) create opportunities online and in-person for members of the community to connect, build friendships and partnerships, and share the cultural richness of our diverse international parent body. Members of the CA and CA volunteers engage in teacher appreciation actions, help plan and organize the annual Gala, serve as admissions ambassadors, and warmly welcome new families to the SDFAS community. In parallel, the CA is organized through room parents for each class, a head room parent for each division and a CA president or co-presidents to support teachers and the administration and collaborate with them to enhance a sense of connection and community among students, teachers, and parents.
SDFAS also reaches out to the local community by participating in local events (La Jolla Christmas Parade) or art exhibits (La Jolla library or UCSD’s International Education Week). The Humanitarian Group of the school also raises funds for charity.
Finally, our Enrichment Program is open to children who are not enrolled at SDFAS. Attending our immersion summer camps or Saturday French program are both great ways to discover our program!
