Immersion in Pre-Elementary
Many cultures. Several languages.
One exceptional education.
Pre-K Programs
Kindergarten
A day in our preschool
Immersion in fun learning activities
The day starts with ”circle time” which will allow your child to develop listening skills and vocabulary along with the ability to communicate in French on topics that motivate them. It's also a time for songs and story-telling. Imagine your child coming home with songs and poems in French! At that age, learning a new language is a piece of cake and their pronunciation is as good as a native speaker.

Sylvie Jarlov
Pre-Elementary Director
Sylvie was born in a small village near Lyon, France. She graduated from the College of Education in Grenoble and decided to combine her love of teaching, traveling, and discovering other cultures by going abroad.
Her first position as a French teacher was in Louisiana. She was then the Co-founder and Director of the French School in Harare, capital of Zimbabwe. She developed the pre-elementary section to welcome younger students. Her passion for travel led her to work in other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Senegal, and Singapore, where she taught at various levels.
She and her husband decided to return to the United States, landing in San Diego in 2010. For these past few years at SDFAS, Sylvie has had the opportunity to teach different grade levels, and to participate in various educational projects in the elementary and middle School. Sylvie has a strong interest in Arts and Music.
